King’s Cross Membership
Church membership is for those who hear and believe with their heart the gospel of Jesus and are baptized in the name of the Trinity.
Church membership has been practiced by the church since the period of the New Testament. See the article “Is Church Membership in the Bible?”
Regular participation in the life of a church is vital for life. This includes attending Sunday morning worship regularly, building friendships in the church body, and being intentional about Sunday morning discipleship classes. As you are able, attending monthly meals and quarterly churchwide prayer, and using your talents and resources for the common good, are ways in which God nourishes you as a Christian.
To become a member, our elders conduct a short membership interview to learn about your testimony of faith and discuss with you the five membership vows below.
The questions for membership at King's Cross
Question 1
Do you acknowledge yourselves to be sinners in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope save in His sovereign mercy?
question 2
Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?
question 3
Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ?
question 4
Do you promise to support the Church in its worship and work to the best of your ability?
question 5
Do you submit yourselves to the government and discipline of the church, and promise to study its purity and peace?
Membership Request
To learn about the church, two King’s Cross Talks are offered on a Saturday morning, every fall and spring: A Christian Vocabulary and The Basic Ingredients of a Church. A Sunday afternoon meal at our pastor’s house is another good time for potential and new members to ask questions about the church. Email the church office.
