Children’s Ministry Summer Update

The weather is getting warmer. The sunlight lasts well past dinner. Everywhere you go, you see people wearing shorts and sandals. That can only mean one thing – summer is right around the corner!

At King’s Cross, our Children’s Church has more than 30 volunteers who help in some capacity. Every one of these volunteers have served tirelessly for consecutive months, some even for years!

To that end, during the summer semester, there will be a new format to Children’s Church. All ages from 0 to Grade 5 continue to be welcome, but we will switch to a large group format for the next 12 weeks, starting on June 16th. This arrangement will ensure that all our teachers get a well-deserved break while offering schedule flexibility during the busy summer months. And best of all, our children will continue to learn and flourish together, whether they’re just finishing preschool or preparing for their last year in elementary school.

The Large Group format will consist of a Bible lesson from the book of Matthew and then a few activities related to the lesson. The Nursery will remain the same format although slight changes may be made if numbers remain consistently low.

If you are interested in serving in Children’s Ministry, it’s always a great time to join in! Please contact to get started. We will train you and walk with you every step of the way. Our goal is to teach every child who joins us for Children’s Church about the Gospel by setting our hope, our hearts, and our mind on the redeeming work of Jesus.

He established a testimony in Jacob
    and appointed a law in Israel,
which He commanded our fathers
    to teach to their children,
that the next generation might know them,
    the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell them to their children,
    so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget the works of God,
    but keep His commandments;

Psalm 78:5-7
